Taifun

Sunflower variety Typhoon is a medium-maturing, high-yielding variety with a vegetation period of about 110 days. Plants reach a height of 160 to 200 cm, have unbranched stems and moderate hairiness in the upper part. The flower head size varies from 18 to 28 cm, and the 1000-seed mass is 90-120 g, indicating a large-seeded variety. High oil content in mature seeds — from 48 to 52% — makes this variety especially valuable for oil production.

Typhoon variety is characterized by high resistance to various diseases and stress conditions. It shows resistance to false powdery mildew, verticillium wilt, sunflower rust, and complex diseases with resistance ratings of 97-100%. Due to its drought tolerance, the variety is nicknamed "Dromedary in the desert." These qualities ensure stable yields ranging from 31.8 to 51.4 centners per hectare, confirmed by data from various regions, including the Nikolaev region.

Typhoon is well-adapted to various climatic conditions in Ukraine and is suitable for cultivation in steppe and forest-steppe zones. The recommended plant density at harvest is 35-40 thousand per hectare for steppe and 45-55 thousand per hectare for forest-steppe. The variety is easily harvested by combine harvesters, simplifying agronomic processes and increasing production efficiency. Due to its characteristics, Typhoon is a reliable choice for farmers focused on high productivity and quality oilseed.
