SUNARIS

SUNARIS sunflower is a medium-maturing, simple hybrid developed by the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crop Research in Serbia and registered in the State Register of Ukraine in 2021. The hybrid is intended for oil production and cultivation using the SUMO technology, with a vegetation period ranging from 105 to 113 days. Plants reach heights of 140 to 170 cm, characterized by rapid transition from seedling to mature stage, active root system development, intensive leaf mass accumulation, and formation of a strong, thickened stem with shortened internodal distances. Recommended cultivation zones are the steppe and forest-steppe regions of Ukraine.

SUNARIS exhibits high yield potential, reaching 45 to 55 centners per hectare, as well as high oil content in seeds — 47-50%. The thousand-seed mass varies from 60 to 75 grams, and seeds have an elongated shape with a distinct black husk and huskiness of 21-25%. The hybrid demonstrates high seed set and resistance to various diseases and pests, including Phomopsis, Phomopsis, powdery mildew, rust, and seven races of Sclerotinia (A-G). Additionally, the hybrid is resistant to false powdery mildew, sunflower moth, and rot.

Special attention has been paid to SUNARIS's resistance to adverse environmental factors. The hybrid tolerates drought, lodging, and shattering, ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions and soil types. Its high adaptability and reliability make SUNARIS a popular choice among agricultural producers seeking high-quality oilseed with high oil extraction rates.
