Shanon sunflower is an early-maturing hybrid developed by the All-Ukrainian Scientific Institute of Selection. It exhibits high resistance to herbicides containing tribenuron-methyl, as well as to new strains of downy mildew (A–G), ensuring reliable crop protection. The hybrid features an intensive growth type, stable high yield, and maximum seed filling, making it attractive for agricultural production.

Shanon sunflower seeds have a high yield potential of up to 5.8 tons per hectare and oil content up to 52%. The hybrid is resistant to drought and various diseases, including black mold of the head, verticillium wilt, and phomopsis, allowing cultivation in diverse climatic conditions such as the forest-steppe and steppe regions of Ukraine. Plant height typically ranges from 175–185 cm, promoting optimal development and harvest.

It is recommended to use Shanon sunflower seeds for sowing in 2025, especially in regions with variable weather conditions, where resistance to stress and diseases is crucial. Due to its characteristics, this hybrid ensures stable and high oilseed yields, making it a profitable choice for farmers aiming for efficient and sustainable sunflower production.
