Sunflower Siena

Crop Stability Under Stressful Conditions

The "Siena" hybrid by AF "Ukrainske nasinnia" is a solution for farmers operating in regions with unstable climates, where the risks of fungal diseases can destroy a significant portion of the potential harvest. The three-way cross breeding of this sunflower allows for a rare combination of high adaptability and robust immunity.

Defensive Potential Against Pathogens

A key difference between "Siena" and many budget hybrids is its comprehensive disease resistance. Breeders prioritized proactive protection:

• Downy mildew: complete mitigation of the threat posed by Peronospora.
• Phomopsis and powdery mildew: genetic resistance that helps reduce expenditures on fungicide treatments.
• Rust: a stable barrier against the most aggressive strains of the pathogen.

Agronomic Characteristics and Productivity

With an average vegetation period of 110–120 days, this hybrid belongs to the medium-early maturity group. The plant height of 160–170 cm facilitates harvesting with modern machinery, while the convex shape of the head ensures uniform seed maturation and minimizes threshing losses. An oil content of 45–50% makes "Siena" a highly profitable product for oil-crushing plants. This is an optimal choice for farms seeking the "golden mean" between cultivation efficiency and stable seed quality.
