Sunflower hybrid Siena is a mid-early variety with a vegetation cycle of 110-112 days and flowering beginning after 60-64 days. This hybrid was developed by the seed company MAY Seed (Turkey) and is intended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, primarily in steppe and forest-steppe regions. Siena is adapted to hot and dry climates, resistant to high solar activity and prolonged drought periods, making it a stress-tolerant and reliable choice for farmers.
The hybrid is characterized by high productivity with a potential yield of 40-50 ц/га and high oil content in seeds — approximately 48-52%. Plants reach a height of 160-170 cm, have a convex head with a noticeable downward tilt. Siena is characterized by uniform emergence and high resistance to major sunflower diseases such as false powdery mildew, frogepsis, downy mildew, and rust. Additionally, the hybrid is tolerant to five strains of Sclerotinia (A-E), resistant to pests and weeds, not prone to lodging or shattering.
Sowing recommendations include plant density of 50-55 thousand per hectare in steppe zones and 60-62 thousand per hectare in forest-steppe regions. Sunflower seeds Siena are available for order with delivery across Ukraine and are suitable for use in agricultural production to obtain high-quality oilseed raw material.
