Sunflower Saiyo

A Reliable Choice for Arid Zones

The «Syaivo» sunflower, developed by the Selection and Genetics Institute (SGI-NCSQ), is a time-tested solution for farmers working in regions with unpredictable moisture levels. Unlike many modern hybrids that demand perfect growing conditions, this variety demonstrates remarkable plasticity and consistent results.

Strengths: What Sets «Syaivo» Apart

• High Adaptability: The variety handles climate swings effectively, maintaining yield stability where intensive hybrids often fail.
• Seed Size: The large seeds of «Syaivo» are highly valued by processors for their excellent kernel yield and high oil content.
• Morphology: Reaching a height of 190–200 cm, the plant develops a robust vegetative mass, providing strong competition against weeds during the early growth stages.

Considerations for Cultivation

Like most varieties of Ukrainian breeding, «Syaivo» requires precise adherence to agronomic density practices. Excessive plant density can lead to lodging due to the crop's significant height. This is the optimal choice for farms that follow traditional cultivation methods and aim to minimize risks associated with expensive seeds while still securing high-quality commercial grain.

This variety serves as an ideal "insurance" option for farmers who prioritize reliability and stable output without the burden of excessive costs for intensive chemical crop protection.
