Sunflower Zakhist

Stable Yields in High-Risk Phytosanitary Environments

When selecting sunflower seeds, agronomists are increasingly prioritizing biological resilience. The "Zakhyst" hybrid from AF Flora is engineered specifically for farms that face yearly challenges from a wide spectrum of fungal and bacterial infections. Its primary advantage is an inherent genetic resistance that helps minimize the need for heavy fungicide applications without sacrificing yield performance.

Practical Field Application

• High-Risk Areas: An ideal choice for regions with frequent high humidity, which typically triggers outbreaks of gray mold (Botrytis) and phoma.
• Intensive Crop Rotation: In fields where optimal sunflower rotation intervals are difficult to maintain, "Zakhyst" offers a critical safety net against bacterial wilt and other soil-borne pathogens.
• Cost Efficiency: The hybrid demonstrates high productivity under standard protection protocols, allowing agricultural enterprises to optimize their chemical input budgets.

Field experience confirms that "Zakhyst" adapts well to various soil types typical of Ukraine’s steppe and forest-steppe zones. Its robust root system and sturdy stalk ensure excellent lodging resistance, which is essential for mechanized harvesting. Under field conditions, the hybrid exhibits uniform head maturation, streamlining harvest logistics and minimizing seed loss during threshing. Choosing this hybrid means securing a predictable outcome, even in seasons with unfavorable phytosanitary conditions.
