NS X 6006 is a mid-season sunflower hybrid characterized by a growing period of 105-110 days. The plant is of medium height (170-180 cm), with no branching and medium stem thickness, exhibiting high resistance to lodging. The leaves are of medium size, green in color, with minimal blistering and medium serration. The head is of medium size and turns half downwards at maturity; the seeds are narrowly egg-shaped, of medium thickness, and black in color. The mass of 1000 seeds is approximately 64.8 g.
The hybrid exhibits high resistance to major sunflower diseases, including downy mildew, Phoma, rust, and sunflower moth. Genetic resistance covers five races of parasitic weed (Orobanche cumana) and all races of downy mildew controlled by the PI6 gene. NS X 6006 is also tolerant to herbicides based on tribenuron-methyl, which enables effective control of broadleaf weeds such as pampas grass, provided appropriate protective measures are applied.
The hybrid demonstrates high yield potential, achieving over 55 centners per hectare with an optimal sowing density of 55,000-60,000 plants per hectare. The oil content of the seeds is 45-49%, ensuring high oil content in the produce. NS X 6006 tolerates drought well and is attractive to pollinators, which promotes effective pollination and stable crop formation. Due to its resistance to shedding and lodging, this hybrid is a reliable choice for various agro-climatic zones.
