NA Bastet

NA Bastet — a high-yielding, easy-to-grow sunflower hybrid developed jointly by LLC Nertus-Agro and the Serbian Institute of Vegetable Growing. It is intended for cultivation using the SUMO technology and is recommended for the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine. The hybrid belongs to the mid-early maturity group with a vegetation period of 107-113 days and has high yield potential up to 50 centners/ha. Seeds are black, elongated, with a 1000-seed weight of 70-75 g, and oil content in the seeds reaches 49-50% at a moisture level of 21-23%.

NA Bastet plants reach a height of 160-190 cm, have a round, well-filled head with a diameter of 21-25 cm, and a sturdy stem with a dense covering of stiff hairs. The root system is well-developed and branched, contributing to resistance to stressful conditions, including drought and water deficiency. The hybrid shows high resistance to lodging and shattering, and responds well to agronomic practices, particularly herbicides containing sulfonylurea.

Special attention has been given to the disease and pest resistance of NA Bastet. The hybrid exhibits high tolerance to 7+ races of downy mildew (A-G) and certain new forms of this pathogen. It is also resistant to powdery mildew, Phomopsis, Phomopsis, gray mold, rust, and sunflower moth. Thanks to these qualities, NA Bastet is a reliable choice for oilseed producers aiming to achieve a stable and high-quality harvest under various climatic conditions in Ukraine.
