MAS 89 M is a mid-season simple sunflower hybrid of the linoleic type, characterized by a high yield potential and excellent adaptation to various soil and climatic conditions. The hybrid's vegetative period ranges from 105 to 118 days, depending on growing conditions. Plants are of medium height with a sturdy stem structure and sparsely haired leaves, forming a convex medium-sized head with a semi-inclined position and flowering with yellow blossoms in medium-early maturity. The seeds are black with dull stripes, have a mass of 53-62 grams per thousand grains, and contain 49 to 54% of high-quality oil. The MAS 89 M hybrid is distinguished by high resistance to common sunflower diseases, such as Phoma, white head rot and stem rot, powdery mildew, as well as to the A, B, C, D, and E races of darnel. Thanks to its excellent phyto-sanitary profile, the plants maintain a healthy appearance throughout the entire vegetative period. The hybrid tolerates stress conditions caused by unfavorable weather factors well and demonstrates high growth energy and uniform seedling emergence after germination. MAS 89 M is recommended for cultivation in various regions of Ukraine, including the Polesie and Forest-Steppe zones, as well as such oblasts as Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Cherkasy. For sowing, optimal soil temperature is 10-12 degrees at a depth of 8-10 cm. The hybrid is characterized by stable yields up to 50 c/ha and good head filling, making it a profitable choice for agricultural production.
