Sunflower MAS 89HOCL is a new high-oleic hybrid developed for the Clearfield segment. It features early maturity, allowing cultivation in all regions, including those with low heat sums, and avoiding damage from early autumn frosts. The hybrid has medium plant height, slightly convex capitulum shape, and semi-erect inclination, with a 1000-seed mass of 55-60 grams. High oil content (45-51%) and oleic acid (87-90%) ensure high-quality product, especially important for oleic oil production.
MAS 89HOCL exhibits excellent resistance to major sunflower diseases, including anthracnose, false powdery mildew, phomopsis, sclerotinia, and verticillium. It also possesses high energy for initial development and strong lodging resistance, contributing to stable yields even under adverse conditions. The hybrid demonstrates good capitulum filling and adapts well to various soil-climatic conditions, making it a versatile solution for different regions.
Recommended planting density is 60,000 plants per hectare under unfavorable conditions and up to 70,000 plants per hectare under favorable conditions. MAS 89HOCL combines high productivity, stability, and quality oil characteristics, making it an attractive choice for producers focused on obtaining high-quality oleic oil with good disease and stress resistance.
