Sunflower M 55 22 is a high-yielding hybrid developed by the institute in Novi Sad, Serbia. This variety is intended for intensive cultivation and is characterized by its ability to effectively absorb stimulants and fertilizers, which contributes to achieving high yields. The plants have strong stems resistant to lodging, as well as a robust, well-branched root system, ensuring good adaptation to various climatic conditions, including those in Ukraine.
Hybrid M 55 22 exhibits genetic resistance to five races of downy mildew and is suitable for application of imidazolinone herbicides as well as the EuroLighting technology, enabling effective weed control and increased yields. Potential yield is approximately 55 centners per hectare, and oil content in seeds reaches 48–51%, making this variety attractive for high-quality oil production.
The vegetation period of sunflower M 55 22 is approximately 104–106 days, and plant height reaches 170–180 cm. The variety demonstrates resistance to diseases and pests, including downy mildew, which reduces the risk of yield loss. Due to its characteristics and adaptability, M 55 22 is suitable for cultivation in all regions of Ukraine, ensuring stable and high yields when recommended agronomic practices are followed.
