Sunflower Asturía is a medium-early simple hybrid of Ukrainian selection, intended for classical cultivation technology. It is characterized by high yield potential up to 5 tons per hectare and a vegetation period of 105-107 days. Plants reach a height of 160-180 cm, have moderate growth intensity at the initial stage, medium stem thickness, and deep root system, which contributes to their resilience and adaptability to various soil-climatic conditions.
Hybrid Asturía exhibits high resistance to a broad spectrum of diseases and pests, including powdery mildew, rust, fomopsis, fomosis, alternaria, as well as to tar spot and downy mildew. Additionally, it is resistant to common races of downy mildew (A-G) and herbicide Express, which facilitates crop protection and enhances the efficiency of agronomic measures. Seed purity is 22-24%, which is an important indicator for processing.
Sunflower seeds of Asturía are characterized by high oil content — from 47 to 49%, and the weight of 1000 seeds varies within 45-55 grams. To achieve maximum yield, the use of herbicides and microfertilizers is recommended. Due to its qualities and resistance, this hybrid is suitable for cultivation throughout Ukraine, ensuring stable and high yields when agronomic requirements are met.
