Sunflower L 9

Sunflowers «L 9» by Melkom Agro: A Balanced Choice for Yield and Stability

In the landscape of modern agriculture, finding a sunflower variety that combines high genetic potential with strong defensive traits is a key priority for producers. «L 9», developed by Melkom Agro, enters the market as a robust variety designed to provide consistent performance across various growing conditions.

Disease Resistance and Agronomic Features

One of the primary strengths of «L 9» is its extensive resistance package. Protecting yield from fungal pathogens is a constant challenge, and this variety offers effective resistance against:

• Sclerotinia (White rot);
• Phomopsis and Phoma;
• Powdery mildew;
• Downy mildew (Peronospora).

With plant heights ranging from 170 to 180 cm, the variety is well-suited for efficient mechanical harvesting, allowing for lower header heights and reduced harvest losses.

Oil Quality and Productivity

The medium-sized, flattened seed head is engineered for efficient grain filling. Under favorable agricultural practices, the variety achieves an oil content of 45–50%, making it a highly valued commodity for oil extraction plants. By managing plant density effectively, producers can maximize the economic impact of this variety.

Choosing «L 9» from Melkom Agro is a strategic move for operations looking to mitigate phytosanitary risks while maintaining a competitive edge in oil quality. Its development focuses on practical, real-world farm conditions, offering a reliable alternative for modern sunflower cultivation.
