Sunflower L 812

Field Performance of L 812

When working with the L 812 hybrid from Melkom Agro, you quickly realize it is designed for those who prefer reliability over constant crop monitoring. The genetic resistance profile—covering white rot, charcoal rot, downy mildew, phomopsis, and powdery mildew—is exceptional. In practice, this significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications, which is a major advantage for both the budget and soil health.

Cultivation and System Efficiency

The standout feature here is the compatibility with the Clearfield (Euro-Lightning) system. For any farm manager, this is the most efficient way to handle weed pressure and broomrape. The hybrid demonstrates excellent tolerance during herbicide application, showing no signs of stunting. With a 110–120 day maturity window, planning harvest operations becomes straightforward, helping to avoid bottlenecks during the busy season.

• Oil Content: Consistently hitting 45–50%, ensuring maximum profitability when delivered to processing facilities.
• Morphology: Standing at 150–160 cm, the plants are resilient against lodging, making it compatible with standard harvesting headers without significant grain loss.
• Stress Tolerance: The hybrid shows impressive recovery rates following temperature spikes or dry spells, keeping yield potential intact.

Ultimately, L 812 is about consistency. It is a low-maintenance, high-yield hybrid that performs well across various field conditions. It is ideal for those who value clean fields and a stress-free harvest season.
