L 812 is a mid-season, high-yielding intensive sunflower hybrid adapted for cultivation in arid conditions of southern Ukraine and recommended for the entire country. It belongs to the maturity group with a growth period of about 115 days and boasts a high yield potential exceeding 42 centners per hectare. Plants reach a height of 150-152 cm, while the average sunflower head diameter is 15.8 cm. Seed oil content reaches 48%, with 1000-seed weight of 72 grams. The hybrid is distinguished by its resistance to cold, drought, lodging, and other stressful conditions, ensuring stable quality and quantity of the harvest.
Hybrid L 812 exhibits high resistance to seven races of sunflower rust (A-G), as well as various diseases, including white rot, black mold, dry rot, and downy mildew. Moreover, it is tolerant to Phoma stem canker and Phoma black stem blight, which significantly reduces the risk of crop losses due to diseases. These characteristics make L 812 a reliable choice for farmers seeking high-quality and stable sunflower yields.
For crop protection, it is recommended to use the technology of herbicide treatment with the use of post-emergence herbicide Express by company FMC or its analogues, such as Гризний Експерт. Treatment with herbicide Imameks is also possible, which effectively controls annual dicotyledonous and grass weeds, has systemic and soil action, and also controls parasitic plants such as sunflower dodder. Imameks is applied in early stages of sunflower development, providing long-term crop protection and contributing to high yields.
