The DOVER CLP sunflower hybrid is a high-yielding, mid-season variety with an intensive growth type, adapted for cultivation in various climatic conditions, including drought-prone areas of southern Ukraine. It belongs to the EuroLighting group and has a maturity period of approximately 115 days. Plants reach a height of 150-152 cm, have an average head diameter of about 15.8 cm, and a seed mass per 1000 seeds ranging from 50-72 grams. Seed oil content varies from 45 to 50%, ensuring high oil yield and making the hybrid popular for producing sunflower oil rich in linoleic acid.
One of the key features of DOVER CLP is its resistance to broomrape (Orobanche) of all 7 races (A-G), enabling cultivation on fields with varying levels of broomrape infestation. Additionally, the hybrid exhibits high resistance to diseases such as false powdery mildew, sclerotinia (both stem and head), fusarium, and fusarium wilt, and demonstrates good tolerance to stress conditions, including drought and cold resistance up to -4°C. Early growth and high resistance to lodging ensure reliable and stable yields.
DOVER CLP is characterized by good plasticity and adaptability to growing conditions, making it suitable for all regions of Ukraine. Its high yield potential, exceeding 42 centners per hectare, and stable oil content make this hybrid an attractive choice for farmers seeking effective weed management and maximum quality sunflower oil production. Thanks to the Clearfield Plus technology, the hybrid simplifies weed control, further enhancing the economic efficiency of production.
