Sunflower KM 225

Genetic Potential and Morphology of KM 225

The KM 225 sunflower by NPO Galaxy is a selection product designed to achieve a balance between high oil content and harvesting efficiency. The model is based on physiological plant architecture adapted to modern intensive agricultural practices.

Key Structural Characteristics

• Oil Content: The 50-55% range is a stable genetic trait. For farmers, this translates to high profitability upon processing, as oil content is the primary driver of market value.
• Plant Habit: The height of 170-180 cm ensures optimal clearance from the soil surface to the head. This makes the variety less prone to lodging in strong winds and allows for the use of standard headers without significant cutting losses.
• Head Shape: The flattened geometry of the head plays a crucial role in the ripening process. This shape promotes more uniform moisture distribution and ensures rapid moisture release in the final vegetative phase, minimizing the risk of fungal infections within the center of the head.

The practical value of KM 225 lies in its predictability. NPO Galaxy has prioritized the stability of head formation, which simplifies the adjustment of combine threshing and separation mechanisms. Uniform seed ripening within the head reduces the percentage of unthreshed grain and seed damage, which is critical for maintaining germination vigor and future harvest quality.
