KM 85 2 R is a mid-season sunflower hybrid designed for cultivation under various soil-climatic conditions. The vegetative period lasts 105-110 days, allowing the hybrid to successfully adapt to different regions. The plants are tall with a convex flower head shape, which promotes effective yield formation. The recommended planting density before harvest varies depending on soil moisture levels: 55-60 thousand plants per hectare in well-watered zones and 50-55 thousand plants per hectare in less watered zones.

The hybrid is characterized by high yield, reaching 49-51 centners per hectare, and high oil content in seeds — from 50 to 53%. The seeds have a 1000-seed mass ranging from 52-58 grams. KM 85 2 R exhibits excellent resistance to major sunflower diseases, including false powdery mildew, phomopsis, stem and head sclerotinia, rust, and verticillium. In addition, the hybrid demonstrates high drought tolerance, resistance to lodging and stem breakage, ensuring stable yields even under adverse weather conditions.

To enhance planting efficiency, seeds are treated with AGROSTART and PONCHO D150, which provide protection against weeds and pests during early growth stages. KM 85 2 R belongs to the linoleic sunflower type and is suitable for cultivation on areas of 2.2 to 2.5 hectares when packaged in bags of 150,000 seeds.
