Sunflower KM 220

An Early-Maturing Choice for Efficient Crop Rotation

The sunflower hybrid "KM 220" from NPO Galaktika is designed for farms prioritizing optimized harvest timelines and high-quality raw materials. With a vegetation period of 90–100 days, this simple hybrid integrates seamlessly into intensive farming cycles, clearing fields well before the onset of typical autumn rains.

Agronomic Profile and Resilience

The main challenge in sunflower cultivation is the infection pressure, particularly in high-humidity areas. "KM 220" offers targeted resistance to white and grey rot, significantly reducing the risk of head degradation and yield loss. The compact height of the plant (90–100 cm) not only facilitates equipment pass-through for fertilizer or fungicide application but also ensures excellent lodging resistance.

• Biological Parameters: Narrow-ovoid seeds with a combination of black and grey-striped colors.
• Oil Content: Stable performance within the 50–55% range, making the product a highly liquid asset for processors.
• Head Structure: Medium-sized, flattened heads ensure uniform seed maturation even in conditions of limited sunlight.

Practical Application

By opting for "KM 220," producers secure a predictable hybrid suitable for regions with shorter growing seasons. The plant's low stature minimizes biomass logistics costs and simplifies combine harvester settings during threshing. A high oil concentration, combined with robust immunity to major rot diseases, allows for reliable profitability planning right from the soil preparation phase.
