KM 220

KM 220 is an early-maturing sunflower hybrid developed by Serbian breeding and adapted for cultivation in Ukraine. Sunflower seeds Euroseme, produced by the originator NS Seme from Novi Sad (Serbia), possess strong genetics of European parent lines and high adaptability to local growing conditions. Thanks to this, the hybrid is successfully grown in various regions, including arid areas of southern Ukraine, ensuring stable yields and high profitability for farmers.

KM 220 plants are characterized by low stature and good height uniformity. Leaves are heart-shaped with moderate serration, non-glossy and moderately pubescent. The flower head is medium-sized, half-leaning downward, with elongated involucral bracts exhibiting anthocyanic coloration. The seed portion of the flower head is convex, and the seeds are oval-shaped with predominant black coloration and gray stripes. The hybrid lacks or has weak pubescence on the upper stem part and lacks anthocyanic coloration of the hypocotyl.

KM 220 exhibits high drought and downy mildew resistance (7+ ratings, including A-G+), significantly reducing the risk of yield losses. The hybrid is high-yielding, with average yields ranging from 20.1 to 26.8 centners per hectare, which is 15.4–23.2% higher than regional standards. The oil content of the seeds averages 55.2%, with fluctuations between 53.7% and 56.8%, making it profitable for oil production. Resistance to white and gray mold is at a medium level or meets the standard, further enhancing cultivation reliability.
