Hybrid sunflower A 12 is a medium-early variety adapted for cultivation in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones of Ukraine. It is characterized by high adaptability to various soil-climatic conditions, ensuring rapid initial growth and stable high yield. The hybrid is resistant to six strains of flea beetle (A, B, C, D, E, F), significantly reducing the risk of yield loss due to this pest.
A 12 belongs to the high-oleic hybrid group, as evidenced by the high oil content in seeds — from 47 to 52%. The potential yield of the hybrid reaches 50 centners per hectare, with some data indicating up to 5.5 tons per hectare. The high oil content and yield make this hybrid attractive to producers focused on obtaining quality raw material for processing.
For growing hybrid A 12, the Clearfield (EuroLighting) technology is recommended, which provides resistance to herbicides and allows effective weed control. The recommended planting density is 55,000–65,000 plants per hectare. The hybrid also exhibits high drought resistance, making it a reliable choice under variable climatic conditions.
