Stable Yields with Akpadon-Agro: Working with «Kateryna» Sunflower

When selecting seeds, agronomists value predictability in field conditions above all marketing claims. The «Kateryna» hybrid by Akpadon-Agro offers exactly the performance metrics that allow farmers to minimize risks during the peak of the growing season.

Working with this hybrid, the first thing you notice is its cultivation efficiency. Due to its resistance to the «Euro-Lightning» system, weed control shifts from a complex challenge to a straightforward, planned operation. This ensures a clean field without excessive spending on manual labor or multiple herbicide applications.

Agronomic Features and Protection

• Robust Phyto-sanitary Profile: The hybrid stands strong against threats like phomopsis, phoma, and rust. Experience shows that even under high humidity conditions, where the risk of white rot increases, «Kateryna» displays impressive resistance.
• Plant Development: A stem height of 150-160 cm makes the crop convenient for harvesting. The plants do not suffer from lodging, significantly reducing header losses during combine operations.
• Oil Content: Threshing results consistently show an oil content of 45-50%, making the crop highly marketable for crushing plants.

A vegetation period of 110-120 days allows for stress-free harvest planning. Large seeds form a substantial medium-sized head, which, combined with optimal sowing density, delivers the expected yield per hectare. This is a reliable workhorse that tolerates minor inconsistencies in agronomy and provides consistent results even with moderate management.
