Jaguar

Jaguar sunflower is a high-yielding, early-maturing hybrid of confectionery type, developed using advanced breeding technologies of Nuseed and French breeding companies. The vegetation period is approximately 102 days, allowing the hybrid to be successfully grown in various climatic zones, including Central Ukraine. Jaguar is characterized by large striped seeds, ideal for producing uncleaned confectionery products, as well as high oil content in seeds, reaching 46.5–52.0%. The hybrid’s yield potential is up to 3.4 t/ha, confirming its high productivity. The Jaguar hybrid has a strong, branched root system capable of absorbing moisture from depths exceeding two meters, ensuring drought resistance and enabling the plant to effectively withstand summer heat and short-term water shortages. This root system also contributes to stem stability, reducing the risk of root lodging and minimizing harvest losses during threshing. Plants reach heights of 144 to 180 cm, and the flower head diameter varies within 18.4–22 cm, promoting uniform flowering and ripening. Jaguar demonstrates resistance to a wide spectrum of diseases, including false powdery mildew, Phomopsis, various forms of rot (stem and head rot), Phomosis, sclerotinia, and downy mildew A–E. The hybrid is adapted to Clearfield (Euralis Lighting) technology, simplifying cultivation and enhancing plant protection efficiency. It is recommended to maintain a planting density of 35–45 thousand plants per hectare for optimal yield formation. Additionally, Jaguar positively responds to the application of microfertilizers and foliar feeding, which contributes to improved productivity and resilience under adverse conditions.
