Hybrid sunflower Iskander is an early-maturing, high-yielding hybrid with a vegetation period of 105–108 days. Plants reach a height of 130–140 cm, have medium-sized downward-facing heads. Seeds are black, medium-sized (60–70 g per 1000 seeds), with high oil content — from 48 to 52%, ensuring high oil yield.
Hybrid Iskander exhibits high resistance to various diseases and pests. It is genetically resistant to strains of sunflower moth A, B, C, D, E, as well as resistant to infestation by sunflower moth and sunflower beetle. Additionally, the hybrid shows high resistance to white mold, rust, fomopsis, and powdery mildew, significantly reducing the risk of crop loss.
Iscander adapts well to various soil-climatic conditions and is characterized by high drought and heat tolerance. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation in different regions and on various soil types. It is resistant to the herbicide Granstar application technology, tolerating two applications of 25 g/ha, and is adapted to the "Sumo" technology using tribenuron-methyl. The optimal plant density at harvest is approximately 50,000 plants per hectare, with potential yields reaching 4.2–4.4 tons per hectare.
