Hop Chaklun

Field Performance of the «Chaklun» Hop Variety

Selecting the «Chaklun» variety, developed by the Institute of Agriculture of Polissia, means prioritizing operational stability. This Ukrainian hop cultivar is engineered to perform consistently under local climatic stresses, allowing growers to maintain a predictable production schedule.

Maintenance and Operational Efficiency

One of the primary benefits of working with «Chaklun» is its robust natural resistance. The variety shows a strong defense profile against powdery mildew and bacteriosis. For a farm operator, this translates directly into a reduced need for heavy fungicide applications, saving on input costs and simplifying the seasonal spray program.

• With a short vegetation period of 40–45 days, the harvest window is clearly defined, allowing for better management of labor and machinery resources.
• The cultivar is specifically suited for fresh market consumption, maintaining excellent quality standards if standard post-harvest handling protocols are followed.

The variety is highly responsive to standard nutrient management practices, requiring no special equipment or exotic cultivation techniques. It fits seamlessly into established agricultural systems, offering high reliability for those who prioritize a low-risk, disease-resistant production model.
