Sunflower ISKANDER

Consistent Yields with Minimal Risk

When you head out to the fields with the "Iskander" hybrid from Ooo Aktiv Agro, the uniformity of the crop stands out immediately. With a plant height of 130–140 cm, this hybrid resists lodging, which is critical for smooth mechanical harvesting. The heads are of medium size but very dense, producing large, black seeds that minimize dockage and ensure a clean harvest in the tank.

Agronomic Strengths and Plant Health

In today's unpredictable climate, this sunflower variety proves its worth through resilience. Its natural resistance against rust, phomopsis, and the sunflower stem borer (Usač) helps reduce the need for excessive fungicide applications. With a 100–110 day growth cycle, the crop efficiently realizes its potential even in conditions of moderate moisture stress.

Economic Performance

For a farm manager, "Iskander" represents a predictable result. With proper agronomic practices, the oil content stays within the 45–50% range. It is one of those cases where a large seed size does not compromise oil quality, which is highly valued by processors at delivery. The optimal plant height simplifies operations for the combine harvester, allowing the header to work consistently without overloading the chopper with excess green biomass.

• Vegetation period: 100-110 days (mid-maturing).
• Biology: Strong resistance to various rots and pathogens.
• Quality: Large, black seeds with an oil content of 45-50%.
• Management: 130-140 cm height, optimized for efficient harvesting.
