FORTUNA is a medium-maturing, two-line sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) hybrid with a vegetative period of about 122 days. Plants reach high height (160-165 cm) and are characterized by green leaf color, medium pubescence, and yellow ray flowers. The hybrid has no branching, and seeds exhibit strongly expressed marginal and intermarginal stripes, with a 1000-seed mass of approximately 66.8 g, varying within 60-80 g. FORTUNA belongs to the Clearfield® type, providing herbicide resistance and enabling effective weed and ragweed control, as well as resistance to major sunflower diseases. The hybrid demonstrates high adaptability to various soil-climatic conditions, including drought-prone zones and abiotic stresses. It forms well under moderate planting density and is suitable for extensive cultivation technologies. The optimal planting density is 55,000–60,000 plants per hectare, promoting maximum yield potential and seed quality. FORTUNA exhibits high yield — average yield in the Central Chernozem region is about 30.8 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 52.0 centners per hectare. Seeds contain a high oil content — on average 47.8–52%, ensuring oil collection up to 13 centners per hectare. Due to its characteristics and resistance, the FORTUNA hybrid is a reliable choice for producers aiming to achieve stable and high-quality sunflower yields.
