Rapeseed Sensation

French Breeding for High Yield Efficiency

Winter oilseed rape «Sensation» (Сенсейшн) from the French originator Serasem is a reliable choice for farmers prioritizing stability and technological precision. In the face of changing climate patterns across Europe, Serasem hybrids are recognized for their ability to maintain yield potential even under significant stress factors.

Focus on Phytosanitary Resistance

A key attribute of «Sensation» is its genetically driven resistance to Phoma stem canker. This fungal disease remains a primary threat to rapeseed production, capable of severely impacting the thousand-grain weight and overall oil content. As a simple linear hybrid, it displays high tolerance to this pathogen, helping producers optimize early-season fungicide application schedules.

Sowing Guidelines

To fully unlock the potential of the hybrid, accurate seed rate management is essential. The target plant population at harvest should range between 400,000 and 600,000 plants per hectare, depending on local soil conditions and seeding dates:

• 400,000 plants/ha — recommended for early planting dates and fertile soils with excellent water retention.
• 500,000 plants/ha — the standard density for optimal plant development.
• 600,000 plants/ha — advised for late planting or areas with higher risks of overwintering challenges to compensate for stand loss.

«Sensation» exemplifies the standards of the European breeding school, where agronomic endurance is balanced with high productivity. For farms focused on export quality and low glucosinolate content, this hybrid serves as a tool for consistent, predictable performance in the field.
