ES BOSTON SU

ES Boston SU — a medium-early hybrid sunflower for oilseed production, adapted for cultivation in various agro-climatic zones of Ukraine, including steppe, forest-steppe, and lowland areas. Plants reach an average height of 165–175 cm, with a flower head diameter of 20–22 cm, which contributes to effective yield formation. The hybrid is characterized by high productivity, reaching up to 50 t/ha, although in real conditions it varies from 32 to 42 t/ha.

One of the key features of ES Boston SU is its high comprehensive resistance to major sunflower diseases, including Sclerotinia and false powdery mildew, with genetic resistance to new races of this disease. This resistance significantly reduces the risk of yield losses and reduces the need for frequent application of protective treatments. Additionally, the plant has good drought tolerance, and its leafiness helps retain moisture, which is particularly important under insufficient soil moisture.

The oil content in the seeds of the hybrid is at the level of 49–51%, making it attractive for oil production. The seeds are treated with fungicides and insecticides, providing additional protection at sowing. The recommended seeding rate depends on moisture conditions: under insufficient moisture — 50–55 thousand seeds per hectare, under adequate moisture — 60–65 thousand. Seeds are packaged in multi-layer paper bags of 150,000 units, ensuring convenient storage and transportation.
