LK 048

LK 048 — mid-early sunflower hybrid, intended for cultivation in Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones. This hybrid is distinguished by high adaptability to various soil-climatic conditions, ensuring stable plant growth and development. LK 048 is characterized by rapid early growth, promoting the formation of a strong vegetative mass and high yield potential reaching approximately 50 c/ha. Oil content in seeds is 47-48%, making this hybrid attractive for high-quality oil production.

The LK 048 hybrid is resistant to a wide spectrum of diseases and stress factors. It exhibits tolerance to seven major races of downy mildew (A-G), as well as to some new forms of this pathogen. Additionally, the plant demonstrates high resistance to such diseases as Phomopsis, blossom and stem rot, rust, Verticillium wilt, Alternaria, anthracnose, and false powdery mildew. LK 048 also exhibits high resistance to lodging and drought, ensuring yield stability under variable climatic conditions.

For cultivation of this hybrid, intensive technologies are recommended, including the Clearfield® Plus (EuroLightning) technology, which enables effective weed control using herbicides to which LK 048 shows high tolerance. The vegetation period lasts approximately 105-108 days, with the period from emergence to flowering being 68-70 days. Plants reach a height of 168-172 cm, and head size is 22-24 cm, contributing to high seed yield with high oil content.
