MAS 97 A

The MAS 97 A sunflower is a high-yielding hybrid designed for cultivation in Forest-steppe and Steppe zones. It belongs to medium-late varieties with a vegetation period of 115-120 days and is distinguished by high plasticity to various growing conditions. The plants are tall, with a semi-inclined, slightly convex head, which facilitates efficient yield formation. The recommended sowing density varies depending on soil moisture: 60–65 thousand plants per hectare with sufficient moisture and 55–60 thousand with insufficient moisture.

The MAS 97 A hybrid is characterized by high oil content in the seeds — from 48 to 51%, making it attractive for the oilseed industry. The weight of 1000 seeds is 55-65 grams, indicating the size and quality of the seeds. High growth energy and drought resistance ensure stable plant development even under limited moisture conditions. Additionally, the hybrid exhibits good lodging resistance, which increases yield preservation.

Special attention is given to disease and pest resistance. MAS 97 A is tolerant to sunflower rust A-E and resistant to major sunflower diseases such as downy mildew (RM7), phoma, head and stem sclerotinia, with resistance ratings at the level of 7-8 points. These characteristics make the hybrid a reliable choice for various agroclimatic conditions, ensuring stable and high yields up to 50 centners per hectare.
