EC VENICE

EC VENICE is a mid-early intensive sunflower hybrid intended for cultivation in various climatic zones, including Northern Steppe, Forest-Steppe, Polesie, Central Chernozem, North Caucasian, and Ural regions. Plants reach a height of about 160-175 cm, and the disk diameter is 21-23 cm, with the disk usually drooping. Leaves are of medium size, heart-shaped, green in color without anthocyanin pigmentation. Flowers are yellow, ray florets are elongated, and tubular florets are also yellow with very weak anthocyanin pigmentation of the styles. The hybrid is characterized by high seed oil content, which ranges from 48% to 54%, ensuring high oil content in the yield. Seeds are of medium size and oval-elongated shape, with a 1000-seed mass of about 67 grams. EC VENICE demonstrates high yield — average yield figures in various regions range from 14 to 28.4 c/ha, and yield potential reaches 50 c/ha. The recommended planting density depends on soil moisture level: 50-55 thousand plants per hectare in zones with insufficient moisture and 60-65 thousand plants per hectare in zones with sufficient moisture. The hybrid exhibits increased tolerance to diseases, including new races of downy mildew, and is resistant to Phoma and Verticillium wilt (races A-E).
