Sunflower EC Supra

High-Performance Sunflower Hybrid for Complex Phytosanitary Conditions

The ES Supra sunflower hybrid by NVF Elita-Select is engineered for farms that prioritize both high oil content and efficient field management. In an era where disease pressure significantly impacts profit margins, selecting a hybrid with built-in genetic resilience is a critical step in risk management.

Weed Control and Disease Resistance

A key feature of ES Supra is its tolerance to the Euro-Lightning (Clearfield) herbicide system. This technology allows producers to control a broad spectrum of weeds—including parasitic ones like broomrape—without the need for mechanical inter-row cultivation, which often compromises root structure and soil moisture levels.

Furthermore, the hybrid exhibits strong genetic resistance to phomopsis and various types of rot. For regions prone to high humidity or those struggling with crop rotation challenges, ES Supra maintains healthy foliage and plant integrity, which directly translates to consistent seed filling and high test weight at harvest.

Key Agronomic Characteristics

• Oil Content: With 45–50% oil content, this hybrid meets the high standards of processing plants, ensuring favorable market pricing.
• Plant Architecture: Reaching a height of 170–180 cm, the plants are well-suited for mechanized harvesting. A robust stem reduces the risk of lodging, even in windy conditions.
• Operational Efficiency: As a simple hybrid, ES Supra provides uniform field development. This consistency facilitates easier monitoring and simplifies the timing of agricultural operations.

Choosing ES Supra means investing in a predictable outcome. By mitigating the impact of weed competition and disease pressure, this hybrid allows agronomists to focus on optimizing yields rather than firefighting crop failures.
