Sunflower D 10

Stability and Selection of Nikolai Cheban

The «D 10» sunflower hybrid is a result of purposeful breeding work by Nikolai Savvelievich Cheban, designed for farmers who prioritize predictable results over complex, costly cultivation techniques. Unlike high-intensity foreign varieties that require perfect conditions to thrive, «D 10» proves its worth through adaptability to fluctuating environmental conditions.

Key Specifications

• Hybrid Type: Simple hybrid, providing uniform crop stands and simultaneous ripening across the entire field.
• Oil Content: 45–50%, a solid market standard that ensures high demand from oil processing plants and consistent profitability.

Pros and Cons: A Realistic Assessment

The primary advantage of «D 10» lies in its mechanical consistency. Because it is a simple hybrid, you avoid the common issue of uneven plant heights, which significantly simplifies mechanized harvesting and reduces grain loss. Furthermore, the hybrid exhibits strong early vigor, giving the crop a head start against weeds.

However, it is important to note: like any classic hybrid, «D 10» relies on sound crop rotation practices. It is not designed for poor soil management; rather, it is a tool for professional farmers who follow standard agronomic protocols. It performs best in regions where moisture balance is the key factor in the outcome of the season.

Is this hybrid right for you?

This variety is optimal for farming enterprises operating in steppe or forest-steppe zones that value stable yields without the necessity of extreme chemical input. If your business strategy involves achieving a solid, high-quality commercial sunflower yield while mitigating the risks associated with finicky intensive hybrids, «D 10» represents a economically sound and balanced choice.
