USP Ikorits — this is an early-maturing sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) variety, developed by individual selection from ultra-early varieties and populations. Plants reach an average height of 120-135 cm, have green leaves and yellow disc florets. The flower head is flat or slightly convex, regular in shape, with a diameter of 18-22 cm. Seeds are black-gray, striped, elongated, with a huskiness of 27-28%, and the 1000-seed mass is 61.8 g. The vegetation period lasts about 90 days, ensuring early maturity of the crop. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to lodging, shattering, as well as excellent resistance to diseases and pests, making it a reliable choice for cultivation. USP Ikorits is recommended for cultivation in the Orenburg region and other areas of the Urals, where average seed yield reaches 14-14.2 centners per hectare, and maximum yield up to 16.1 centners per hectare. The oil content in the seeds is 47%, ensuring high oil yield — about 10 centners per hectare. Additionally, the seeds are characterized by increased protein content (22-25%), enhancing their nutritional value. The USP Ikorits variety was included in the state register in 2019 and is the result of selection by the Federal Scientific Center for Agrarian Sciences named after V.V. Dokuchaev (Voronezh). Thanks to its agronomic characteristics and high technological indicators, this sunflower is suitable for industrial cultivation aimed at obtaining high-quality oil and seeds with high protein content. The early maturity and resistance of the variety allow effective use in the Ural region, ensuring stable and high yields.
