Sugar beet SR 25 F

Precision genetics for disease-prone environments

The sugar beet hybrid "SR 25 F" from the Belgian breeder Sesvanderhave Nv/Sa is a targeted solution for farmers operating in regions where soil-borne diseases and foliage pathogens pose a constant threat to profitability. Unlike standard varieties, SR 25 F is engineered to prioritize biological resilience alongside consistent sugar accumulation.

What sets SR 25 F apart?

• Genetic Resistance: The hybrid features robust resistance to rhizomania and cercospora. By mitigating these two significant yield-killers at the genetic level, growers can optimize their fungicide application schedules, reducing chemical costs and environmental impact.
• Sugar Yield Stability: Achieving a sugar content of 18-19% consistently is the hallmark of the Sesvanderhave breeding program. This hybrid demonstrates excellent sugar storage potential even in less-than-ideal climatic conditions, ensuring a high-quality yield for the processing sector.
• Uniformity and Harvestability: Known for exceptional seedling vigor and field uniformity, SR 25 F simplifies mechanical harvesting, reducing root damage and post-harvest losses.

SR 25 F is the optimal choice for producers who cannot afford the risks associated with vulnerable varieties in high-infection pressure zones. It is not designed to chase extreme biomass at the cost of health; rather, it is a high-performance "marathoner" that delivers predictable, reliable output. By choosing this hybrid, farmers are investing in an agricultural strategy that minimizes input costs while maximizing the quality of the harvested crop, ultimately securing a better position in the sugar market.
