Sugar beet Bravo

Consistent Yields with Danish Genetics

Working with the 'Bravo' sugar beet hybrid from the Danish company Maribo Seed is about predictability.

Field Performance and Disease Resistance

The primary stress for any sugar beet producer is the pressure of diseases. 'Bravo' stands out due to its robust resistance to rhizomania and cercospora. Its resistance to Aphanomyces root rot is particularly valuable in fields where cold, wet springs usually cause significant stand loss.

Harvesting Efficiency

In terms of logistics, the medium-sized roots are perfectly suited for standard mechanical harvesters. They lift cleanly from the soil with minimal harvest losses, and the crop's geometry simplifies the topping process. Beyond the physical handling, the sugar content remains consistently high at 19–20%. For a farmer, this high sugar content is the key to securing better pricing from processing plants.

• Type: Yield-oriented (E).
• Sugar Content: 19-20%.
• Key Strengths: High resistance to rhizomania, cercospora, and root rots.

If you are looking for seed stock that compensates for minor variations in agronomic practices while delivering high biomass and quality, 'Bravo' is an excellent workhorse. It is a prime example of Danish breeding focused on solving real-world field problems.
