Spinach TROMBON

Trombon Spinach: Premium Dutch Genetics by Pop Vriend Seeds

Trombon is a high-performance spinach hybrid developed by the Dutch seed house Pop Vriend Seeds-NL, a recognized industry leader in vegetable breeding. This variety was engineered to meet the stringent demands of commercial growers who require a combination of market-ready aesthetics and robust field performance under varying climatic conditions.

Disease Resistance and Agronomic Performance

The defining strength of Trombon lies in its advanced genetic resistance profile. By focusing on mitigating the impact of downy mildew (peronospora) and powdery mildew, Pop Vriend Seeds-NL has provided producers with a tool that significantly reduces reliance on chemical fungicide applications. This high level of inherent protection ensures consistent results, particularly in humid or high-pressure environments where fungal pathogens often compromise harvest quality.

Quality and Market Appeal

The market value of Trombon is rooted in its visual presentation. The leaves exhibit a deep, intense dark green color with a distinct emerald hue, a trait highly valued in both fresh-cut processing and the traditional retail produce sector. This coloration remains stable post-harvest, ensuring an attractive shelf presence that maintains its appeal during distribution.
