Spinach variety Krasnyy Polissya is a mid-late, high-yielding variety with medium-height plants and large, dark green, slightly wavy, elongated leaves. This variety is resistant to bolting and tolerates low temperatures, including short-term frosts down to -6°C. The vegetation period is about 55 days when sown in spring, and up to 250 days when sown in autumn, allowing it to be grown in spring, autumn, and even under winter cover.
Krasnyy Polissya prefers well-drained, neutral, fertile soils with even moisture. Sow directly at a depth of 1.0-1.5 cm when soil temperature is +4 to +6°C; seedlings emerge within 7-12 days. For stable yields, sow with 14-day intervals and thinning twice: first to 7-8 cm, then to 15 cm apart. Optimal plant density is 30-80 plants per square meter.
The leaves of spinach Krasnyy Polissya are rich in vitamins A, B, C, D, and E, and contain chlorophyll, whose chemical composition is similar to blood hemoglobin. Due to its nutritional properties and mild flavor, this variety is widely used in cooking, suitable for various dishes, and excellent for canning and freezing. Before sowing, seeds are recommended to be soaked for 1-2 days with regular water changes and kept at 18-25°C to improve germination.
