Malachite is a medium-early variety of biennial herbaceous plant, the period from germination to technical maturity is about 50 days. The plant reaches a height of up to 120 cm, forming an upright rosette of leaves with a diameter of 7-10 cm and a height of up to 20 cm. The leaves have an elongated-spathulate shape, dark green color, long and narrow petioles, slightly wavy to the touch. Due to its structure and appearance, malachite is characterized by tender leaves and a distinctive sharp, slightly pungent flavor with a pronounced aroma.
This variety is distinguished by high yield — up to 6 kg per square meter. Malachite is valued for its high content of vitamins, minerals, and phytoncides, making it beneficial for regular consumption. The plant possesses high frost resistance and resistance to bolting, allowing it to be grown under various climatic conditions.
For successful cultivation of malachite, it is recommended to choose sunny, well-lit areas with nutrient-rich, loose, fertile, and moderately moist soil. Watering should be frequent, especially during hot weather. Seed sowing is carried out at a depth of approximately 2-3 cm, preferably in early June, which ensures optimal conditions for germination and plant development.
