Spinach Sunangel

A New Benchmark for Professional Spinach

The Rijk Zwaan breeding portfolio has been expanded with the introduction of 'Sunangel', officially registered in Ukraine in 2026. This hybrid is designed for growers who prioritize crop stability and premium market appearance in intensive production systems.

Key Advantages

• Leaf Morphology: The leaves feature a distinct rounded shape and a deep, dark green color, making them highly desirable for the fresh market and baby-leaf packaging segments.
• Efficiency: The hybrid exhibits exceptional plant uniformity, which significantly simplifies mechanical harvesting and reduces post-harvest sorting losses.
• Production Timing: 'Sunangel' delivers excellent performance during off-season cultivation, ensuring a predictable and consistent supply chain.

For farmers supplying supermarket chains, this hybrid is a reliable asset: the dense leaf structure ensures extended shelf life after harvest, while its resilience to environmental stress helps prevent premature bolting. Rijk Zwaan continues its focus on integrated protection, giving 'Sunangel' high tolerance to common spinach pathogens, which allows for a reduction in fungicide applications.
