Spinach EL TAJIN

El Tajin: A Premium Spinach Hybrid by Syngenta

For large-scale spinach production, the balance between field performance and disease resistance is the ultimate goal. The «EL Tajin» hybrid from Syngenta provides growers with a robust solution designed to mitigate the risks associated with fungal pathogens, ensuring high-quality yields even in challenging environmental conditions.

Resilience and Disease Control

One of the most significant challenges in spinach farming is managing downy mildew (Peronospora). El Tajin stands out for its strong genetic resistance to this specific pathogen. Additionally, it offers reliable protection against various leaf spots, such as Mycospherella and brown spot, which can significantly reduce marketability if left unchecked. By choosing this hybrid, farmers can significantly reduce the frequency of chemical fungicide applications.

Field Performance and Marketability

• Visual Appeal: The deep dark-green leaves are highly desired by the fresh market and retail sectors, ensuring that the end product meets the strict aesthetic standards required for supermarket display.
• Harvest Efficiency: The uniform growth habit of this hybrid makes it an excellent candidate for mechanical harvesting, allowing for lower labor costs and faster, more efficient field operations.
• Yield Stability: Given its breeding background from Syngenta, El Tajin performs consistently, allowing growers to effectively integrate it into their production calendars with predictable results.

Ultimately, El Tajin is designed for agricultural operations that prioritize efficiency and crop health. It minimizes the risk of sudden crop loss due to disease, providing a stable, premium-looking product that commands higher value in the market.
