Soybean variety Sofia is an early-maturing, high-yielding hybrid recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, forest-steppe, and steppes. Plants reach a height of 80-90 cm, facilitating ease of agronomic operations. The variety is distinguished by its high protein content in the seeds — 39-40%, making it attractive for use in food and feed industries. Yield potential ranges from 4.0 to 5.0 tons per hectare, confirming its high productivity even under challenging growing conditions. Sofia has a short vegetation period — 105-110 days — enabling stable harvests in various climatic conditions. High seed germination (about 96%) and a 1000-seed mass of approximately 135 grams ensure good energy for germination and uniform crop development. The variety exhibits high resistance to lodging and major diseases, confirmed by 9-point scale ratings, and demonstrates resilience to stress factors, including drought. Flexibility in row spacing (30-50 cm) and recommended seeding rate of 550,000 seeds per hectare (about 85 kg/ha) allow adaptation of cultivation technology to specific conditions. Soybean seeds of variety Sofia also exhibit resistance to broad-spectrum herbicides, simplifying weed control and reducing protection costs. Thanks to its genetic potential and adaptive qualities, this variety is widely used in Ukraine’s agricultural sector and ensures high production profitability. Seed packaging is available in 5 kg, 50 kg, and 1-ton containers, convenient for various farm scales.
