The SOER 5 soy variety is an early-to-mid-season hybrid of Glycine max (L.) Merr., intended for cultivation in various regions of Russia, including the Central Black Earth, Ural, and Western Siberia regions. The variety's growing season ranges from 97 to 99 days, allowing for effective use in crop rotations with a limited warm period. The plants exhibit an indeterminate growth type, with an average height of about 60.9 cm, and a growth form ranging from erect to semi-erect. The main stem has gray pubescence, the flowers are white, and the lateral leaflets are lanceolate-ovate. The seeds are of medium size, elongated-flattened, yellow in color with a yellow hilum. The mass of 1000 seeds varies between 126.9-137.8 g, indicating high density and seed material quality. Yield varies depending on the cultivation region: in the Central Black Earth region, it reaches an average of 10.8 c/ha, in the Ural region about 6.7 c/ha, and in the Western Siberian region, average figures are 9.5 c/ha with maximum values up to 19.1 c/ha in the Omsk region. The attachment height of the lower pod is 12.2 cm, which facilitates harvest collection and reduces losses during harvesting. Protein content in SOER 5 seeds ranges from 30.0-34.7%, and fat content from 22.0 to 24.5%, making this variety attractive for use in the food and feed industries. During testing, the variety demonstrated disease resistance, enhancing the reliability of its cultivation. SOER 5 is the result of work by the Federal Altai Scientific Center for Agrobiotechnology and is recommended for cultivation in various agro-climatic conditions, confirming its adaptability and high productivity.
