Siberia soybean variety is an early-maturing indeterminate type developed by Alain LeTourneau and included in the State Register for the Central Chernozem region. Plants of medium height reach about 65 cm, with characteristic reddish-brown stem hairs and anthocyanic hypocotyl coloring. Leaves are pointed-oval in shape, flowers are purple, and seeds are yellow with a yellow hilum. The vegetative period is approximately 110 days, ensuring early flowering and maturation, which is especially important for regions with a short warm season. Siberia variety is distinguished by high yield and adaptability. Average seed yield in the region is 22.8 centners/ha, with maximum yields reaching 44.3 centners/ha, recorded at the Ob'yanskoye Grain State Unit in Kursk Oblast. Soybeans show high resistance to lodging and cracking, as well as good resistance to sclerotinia. Due to active early growth and high cold tolerance, this variety is recommended for planting on all soil types and is suitable for cultivation even in the most northern zones. Seeds of the Siberia variety are characterized by high protein content (36.1%) and fat content (22.02%), making this variety attractive for feed and food industries. The plant adapts well to various growing conditions, including direct seeding, and exhibits stability and plasticity under changing climatic conditions.
