Soya variety SK Alta is an ultra-early indeterminate variety bred by Russian breeders of the company «SOKO». This variety is distinguished by its high plasticity and adaptability, which allows it to be successfully grown in both northern and southern regions. The plant is of medium height with white flowers and yellow seeds; the mass of 1000 seeds is about 134-140 grams. The vegetation period of the variety is approximately 110 days, which ensures an early harvest and the possibility of repeated sowings in southern areas.
SK Alta is characterized by a high yield potential, which in various regions of Russia reaches significant figures, for example, in the Central region the average yield is 21.1 c/ha, and in the Plassky GUS of the Tulskaya region in 2021 a maximum yield of 47.8 c/ha was obtained. In Kazakhstan, in the Pavlodar region, the yield is about 11.4 c/ha. The variety is stable against lodging and well suited for mechanized harvesting, which facilitates agronomic work.
Quality indicators of the variety are also at a high level: protein content in seeds varies from 28.6% to 32.9%, and fat content — from 22.1% to 23.9%. Moreover, the variety has tolerance to such diseases as fusarium and downy mildew, which increases its resistance and reliability during growing. Thanks to its characteristics, SK Alta is a universal and promising variety for soy growing under various climatic conditions.
