Soybean OAC Belgrave

Genetic Potential and Adaptability

OAC Belgrave, developed by Huron Commodities, is a mid-maturing soybean variety with a vegetation period of 110–120 days. The primary engineering goal for this variety is balancing maturation rates with oil accumulation. The genetics ensure a high concentration of lipids (22–23%), providing significant economic value for processing industries.

Biological Protection and Morphology

The technical resistance of OAC Belgrave to a complex of pathogens is achieved through the selection of lines with a robust immune response to key fungal and bacterial infections. With a plant height of 80–90 cm, the variety features a sturdy stem, which is critical for preventing lodging during the grain-filling phase.

• Phytosanitary Profile: Genetic resistance to downy mildew (peronospora), septoria, and bacteriosis reduces the need for additional fungicide applications, ensuring stable productivity even under high pathogen pressure.
• Disease Management: The breeding focus includes mitigating risks from ascochyta and fusarium, preserving crop integrity throughout the entire growth cycle.

The compact size and plant architecture optimize solar energy distribution, directly impacting the quality and volume of the commercial yield. OAC Belgrave exhibits high stability under intensive farming conditions, requiring standard inputs for mineral nutrition and herbicide protection.
