Soybean OAS Sandy is a high-quality variety developed by the University of Guelph in Canada. This indeterminate variety features medium plant height and bushiness, ensuring ease of agronomic management and harvest. Plants have yellow-brown pubescence, purple flowers, brown pods, and a slightly yellow hilum. Soybean is adapted to various soil types and exhibits high resistance to Phytophthora, contributing to stable growth and disease protection throughout the growing season. OAS Sandy is an early-maturing variety with a vegetative period of about 80-90 days, making it suitable for diverse climatic conditions, including regions with short summers. The variety possesses high cold tolerance and drought resistance, as well as good resistance to lodging and pod splitting. Plant height varies from 85 to 130 cm, and the lower pod attachment height is 15-20 cm, facilitating harvest and reducing yield loss. One of the key advantages of this variety is its high yield potential, reaching up to 70 ц/ha, and high protein content in seeds — from 40% to 44% — making it especially valuable for food applications. Oil content is at a moderate level, around 23%. Seeds are medium-sized, predominantly yellow with possible shades. Recommended for planting on all soil types and suitable for most regions of Ukraine, making OAS Sandy a versatile and promising choice for agricultural producers.
