Soybean OAC Lakeview

Efficiency in the Field: OAC Lakeview Soybeans

For modern agricultural enterprises, the choice of variety often comes down to balancing yield with logistical feasibility. OAC Lakeview, developed through the collaboration of Huron Commodities, the University of Guelph, and Vanderloo Martin, is engineered specifically for regions requiring a dependable maturity cycle. With a growing season of 105–110 days, this variety offers a strategic advantage, allowing growers to complete their harvest efficiently before late-season weather risks arise.

Agronomic Performance and Harvest Logistics

Practical field experience emphasizes the importance of harvestability. OAC Lakeview grows to a height of 85–100 cm, with the crucial bottom pods attached at 12–15 cm from the ground. This specific architecture is a significant benefit for farmers, as it allows for a low, clean header cut on the combine, effectively minimizing field losses and maximizing the amount of grain brought to the bin.

Quality and Market Value

Beyond its agronomic robustness, OAC Lakeview is valued for its seed composition. With protein levels ranging from 40–42 % and oil content between 21–23 %, it serves as high-quality raw material for both the feed industry and specialized processing plants. This consistent quality profile ensures that the harvested product meets the rigorous standards of both domestic and export markets.

• Harvest Efficiency: Excellent pod attachment height reduces mechanical loss during operation.
• Predictability: A stable 105–110 day maturity window streamlines crop rotation and field planning.
• Seed Quality: High protein and oil ratios deliver strong value in commercial grain trade.

OAC Lakeview is a proven choice for producers who prioritize operational reliability. It combines high-performance genetics with physical characteristics that make field management and harvesting significantly easier. By choosing this variety, farmers invest in a stable, manageable crop that delivers consistent, high-value results season after season.
