The "Nika" soybean variety, developed by the VNIIMK Research Center and Elita Dona, is an intensive, mid-ripening cultivar designed for consistent yields under precise agricultural management. Its primary value lies in its morphological traits that facilitate mechanized harvesting, combined with a high biochemical potential of the grain.

Agrophysics and Growth Parameters

With a vegetation period of 100–110 days, this variety is suitable for various climatic zones, ensuring maturity before the onset of unfavorable weather. A key technical feature is the height of the lower pod attachment: 14–16 cm. This parameter is critical for reducing harvesting losses, as it allows the combine header to capture the maximum volume of pods without the risk of soil intake or damage to the cutting apparatus.

Reaching a plant height of 100–110 cm, the variety exhibits excellent stem stiffness, minimizing lodging under heavy rain or strong wind. This architectural stability ensures uniform pod ripening across the entire plant tier.

Biochemical Composition and Phytosanitary Resilience

For processing purposes, "Nika" shows balanced figures: a protein content of 41–43% and an oil content of 21–22%. These specs make the grain highly attractive for both livestock feed production and oil extraction facilities.

Special emphasis is placed on pathogen resistance. Its genetic tolerance to ash rot (Macrophomina phaseolina) and downy mildew (Peronospora manshurica) reduces the need for preventive fungicide applications during the early and mid-growth stages, directly impacting the cost-efficiency of production.
