Soybean Chernivetska 9

Stability and Performance: Chernivetska 9 Soy

In the landscape of Ukrainian agricultural production, finding the right soybean variety involves balancing early maturity with yield consistency. The "Chernivetska 9" variety, developed by the Bukovinian Institute of Agriculture of the NAAS, occupies a significant niche in the medium-early maturity segment. Designed specifically for the Ukrainian climate, it is highly regarded for its reliability and predictable agronomic performance.

Technical Specifications and Field Performance

With a growing season of 110–120 days, this variety fits seamlessly into various crop rotation cycles, ensuring that harvesting occurs within an optimal window. The plants reach a height of 60–70 cm, showing good resistance to lodging. A key advantage for large-scale operations is the lower pod attachment height, which ranges from 14–16 cm. This physical trait is crucial for ensuring efficient mechanical harvesting and minimizing harvest losses, thereby improving the overall economic outcome for the grower.

Seed Quality Metrics

• Protein content: 37–39%.
• Oil content: 19–20%.

The chemical composition of the beans makes Chernivetska 9 an attractive option for both food processing and high-value animal feed production. Its reputation is built on its adaptability to local soil conditions, requiring no unconventional cultivation practices while consistently meeting modern farming standards. For producers focused on sustainable and risk-mitigated agriculture, this variety remains a classic choice backed by time-tested local genetics.
