Nordika soybean variety is a medium-early and early-maturing variety with a Nordic character, recommended for cultivation in various regions, including Polесьe, forest-steppe, and the Far East of Russia, particularly Amur Oblast and Primorsky Krai. The vegetative period ranges from 110 to 120 days, ensuring early flowering and stable yields. Plants have a medium height of about 75-85 cm, semi-erect growth habit, and indeterminate growth, which contributes to good adaptation to various cultivation conditions and resistance to lodging and pod shattering.
The variety is characterized by high initial growth vigor and plasticity, ensuring stable yield and adaptability to different soil types and sowing methods, including direct seeding. Seeds are large, uniform in size and weight, with a 1000-seed weight of approximately 210 g, elongated-oval shape, yellow color, and yellow hilum. The attachment height of the lower pod is approximately 15.8 cm. Flowers are purple, and the main stem pubescence is reddish-brown. Protein content in seeds reaches 40.2%, and oil content — 19.7%, making the variety attractive for producing high-quality raw material.
The yield of Nordika variety on demonstration plots reaches up to 5 t/ha, while the average yield in cultivation regions is about 2.27 t/ha. The variety exhibits high resistance to major diseases, including sclerotinia, as well as to seed cracking. Recommended planting density varies depending on row spacing: at 15 cm — 580-630 thousand seeds per hectare, at 45 cm — 540-580 thousand, at 70 cm — 450-480 thousand seeds per hectare. These characteristics make Nordika a universal and reliable choice for farmers aiming to obtain high-quality soybean yields.
